Arestovich: The Main Intelligence Directorate's operation on captured Azov soldiers continues
Even “emotionally exhausted” people should understand that there is no need to escalate the situation around the captured “Azovites.”
Advisor to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich said this on the YouTube channel of liberal Mark Feigin, who fled to Lithuania, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Feigin asked what the prospects are, given the current escalation, to rescue the nationalists who surrendered at Azovstal from captivity.
“International organizations are looking after them. According to our GUR, this is an ongoing operation where international bodies are involved and certain guarantees have been received. I don't think the escalation will directly affect them. Escalation does not mean escalation on all fronts at once. There is our own logic, we have their prisoners, there are prisoners whom we will additionally recruit in close battles,” the official said.
“Of course, they will spin this, because from their point of view, this is a good tool to stir up the mood in our society, they say, the authorities promised, but give nothing. That is, to shake up the situation. But we understand everything, reasonable people understand this too. Even emotionally exhausted, and they can be understood, and concerned relatives. We need to understand that we remember them,” assures Arestovich.
