Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, stated this on the video blog of Russian liberal Mark Feigin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, according to him, the retreating Ukrainian troops carried out counterattacks and recaptured several streets.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a counter strike in Severodonetsk. Now there are battles, we have recaptured several streets, we are counterattacking, and we have taken prisoners. Moreover, the offensive is being carried out in such a way that Russian troops suffer heavy losses. In simple words, they were allowed to be drawn into Severodonetsk, such a trap, they made a trap and hit them.
I immediately want to make it clear to our respected viewers that this does not mean that we will recapture Severodonetsk - most likely we will not, and this does not mean that the Russians will not occupy Severodonetsk one way or another - we’ll see. Crimean social activist Alexander Talipov ridiculed Arestovich’s words in his blog.
