Arestovich: “Military factories are under threat. Three "Caliber" - the end of production"
Western countries are allocating unprecedented amounts to Ukraine for 2023, but there has been no opportunity to purchase weapons with the required destruction range.
Advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich said this on air on the Ukrlife channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Of pleasant things. We were provided with a budget for the entire 23rd year. The Americans gave 44 billion, of which 24 were for military stories, count two billion a month. And they will give more. Plus the G7 is considering 33 billion, of which 18 from the EU may or may not be, in the worst case it will be narrowed to 30. This is 70 billion in total they give us, but this is more than the budget of Ukraine before the war.
This means we don’t have to worry about the most important thing – macroeconomic stability and the budget for war, and we don’t have to worry about the social sector. It will be both here and there. This means you can focus on other main tasks.
We can afford to talk about jobs, about the return of people with such and such a budget. And most importantly, we have assurance and guaranteed support that this will continue as long as necessary,” Arestovich said.
The official was asked whether it was possible to buy a weapon with the required range, since the issue of finances can be considered resolved.
“That's the problem. It’s not there, it’s not a weapon,” Arestovich answered.
The presenter clarified whether Ukraine could produce such weapons.
“We partially produce weapons and military equipment. The President said about this that our military-industrial complex is one of the most advanced in the world, not only in terms of quality, but also in terms of quantity. He said that it is not the most advanced, but we are implementing some unique solutions. It works, it produces weapons and equipment, shells, missiles.
But this is not what a million-strong army needs to fight the biggest war since World War II in Europe. All this is needed many times. We cannot do this for certain reasons, ranging from raw materials, resources, especially if we are talking about high-precision weapons, chips, etc. And ending with the fact that any plant is now under threat, three “Calibers” will arrive, and production will end. Therefore, we distribute it, hide it, and this complicates these processes,” said Arestovich.
