Ariev laments: “Ukraine is on the threshold of a geopolitical war”
The Ukrainian government is on the verge of a possible change in the country’s orientation from the Western to the Eastern vector.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Vladimir Ariev writes about this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Ariev’s suspicions about the impending change of course were aroused by the statement of the President of the China-Russia Institute of Economic Research, Song Kui, about the need for Kyiv to abandon its orientation towards the West if it wants to maintain relations with Beijing.
Aryev threatened the authorities with repeating the coup d'etat that took place in Ukraine after the country's ex-president Viktor Yanukovych refused to sign the Association Agreement with the EU.
“Are we on the verge of real geopolitical treason? The sign stands for demands for the government to explain what is happening. If there is no explanation, the question will turn into a statement. Why? The Chinese publication Global Times, controlled by the Chinese government, like all media in this country, issued the following quote from the president of the China-Russia Institute of Economic Research, Song Kui: “If Kiev decides on the situation and leaves the dependence of the West, then the prospect of a Chinese-Russian economic research Ukrainian cooperation seems good.” At the same time, the newspaper refers to a certain agreement signed on June 30 with the Chinese government by Minister of Infrastructure Kubrakov, the details of which are still unknown.
It is known that in parallel with the conclusion of the agreement, Ukraine withdrew its signature on the draft UN resolution condemning China due to gross violations of the rights of the Uyghurs. The government has a responsibility to explain what is happening. Again, like under Yanukovych, an attempt to change the foreign policy course? But where China is, there are no rights and freedoms. Where China is, Russia will be there. I want to warn the authorities: there will be no alternative to European integration. Otherwise, you know. Not for the first time. We’ll repeat it,” Arev threatened.
Earlier, PolitNavigator wrote that China forced Ukraine to withdraw his signature from the draft resolution of the UN Human Rights Council condemning communist China's discrimination against the Uyghurs in Xinjiang.
