Aria of the Varangian Guest, or Debt in Payment is Red
A fresh scandal that is gaining momentum in Ukraine once again confirms the idea: there are no former politicians. Especially if they are thoroughly covered in corruption. And the scandal is connected with a statement made in a Kiev court on November 20 by the former Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Abromavicius.

The Varangian guest, in particular, stated that the former executive director of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, Andrei Pasishnik, Poroshenko’s man, was forcibly wooed as his deputy. And not just anyone, but Boris Lozhkin personally, who at that time headed the Administration of the President of Ukraine, called the minister on the government “turntable.”
And now Lozhkin, who has been free for a year now and has again become a private citizen and businessman, is paying a lot of money to some Ukrainian media to clean up Abromavicius’ statement in court with a mention of calls from Poroshenko’s administrator.
Among those who agreed to clean up the publications were Fraza.ua, Espresso.tv, Delovaya Stolitsa and some other publications. Evil tongues claim, however, that DS and Espresso removed the publications for free, since Avakov, who controls them, is in a hurry to show loyalty to the Confectioner-in-Chief.
What is so seditious contained in the statement of the former Minister Abromavicius, since such an ugly movement has begun?
It should be recalled why the trials began in the first place.
As you know, the “Varangian” Abromavicius was appointed to the post of head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine in December 2014, as a symbol of “reforms” and “consistency in the European vector of development,” as well as on the recommendation of Poroshenko’s Western curators, who wanted to make Nenka’s thoroughly corrupt economy more transparent .
Accordingly, Poroshenko did not want to walk on a short leash with Western curators, and even vice versa - he simply needed to keep his finger on the pulse of the “reform” process. Hence the attempts, by hook or by crook, to smuggle their little man into Abromavicius’s deputies.
For a year and a half, Abromavicius tried to instill European methods of management in the selyuk swamp, every hour adding his own idiocy to the native one (the proposal to abolish work records), but in the end the Moor was forced to leave, after loudly slamming the door.
In his own words, Abromavicius resigned “due to the systematic blocking of fundamental reforms in Ukraine.” The outgoing minister, in particular, accused the deputy chairman of the BPP faction, Igor Kononenko, of trying to take over the ministry, thereby dealing an indirect blow to Poroshenko. It’s no secret that Kononenko and Poroshenko are close friends from their time in the army, and business partners to boot.
Naturally, Poroshenko’s pocket court, wanting to protect the boss from trouble, ordered Abromavicius to refute the statement about pressure from Kononenko. “You will answer for the market, kazzel!” The people's deputy himself portrayed insulted innocence and acted as a witness.
On February 24, 2016, NABU detectives registered criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 344 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (interference in the activities of a government official) on the fact of “illegal influence of Andrey Pasishnik” on January 25 – February 1, 2016 on the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavicius with the aim of occupying the position of deputy minister.
But “registering criminal proceedings” turned out to be much easier than bringing the case to court. For almost two years, the investigation and judicial proceedings were interfered with by all parties not interested in the investigation, including the NABU detectives themselves, who did not want to quarrel with Petya. At the end of April 2016, Sytnik’s detectives “found no evidence of illegal influence of MP from the BPP faction Igor Kononenko on the former Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abromavicius.”
True to the “hand washes hand” principle, the head of the BPP faction, Yuriy Lutsenko, sent a parliamentary request to the Prosecutor General’s Office about evidence of “Kononenko’s influence on Abromavicius” and received a similar response signed by the acting. It seemed that everything was a secret and Abromavicius would not be acquitted if the curators had not assigned FBI agents to NABU, who forced the post-Maidan justice system to creak, but turn its gears. The fact that the Americans are carefully studying Kononenko’s financial activities was reported, in particular, by People’s Deputy Igor Lutsenko (the same one who once caused a drunken brawl with his dad at the Frankfurt am Main airport) in his Facebook blog.
According to Lutsenko Jr., some unnamed sources told him that the US fiscal services were digging under Deputy Kononenko. If transactions are discovered that show signs of money laundering, the foreign accounts of the leader of the BPP faction will be immediately frozen. “Honestly, I don’t envy Kononenko. He is now taking the rap not for himself, but for someone else,” the deputy hinted mysteriously.
So, on November 20, the trial took place and Abromavicius testified that Poroshenko’s people put pressure on him. Specifically, the head of the Presidential Administration, Lozhkin, who called Abromavicius via government communications.
Perhaps the matter could have ended amicably (especially since the ex-minister is married to a Ukrainian woman and has some business interests in Nenka) and Abromavicius would not have taken out the trash from the hut so demonstratively, if not for one piquant detail. When it became clear to the Parashkinites that the deported Lithuanian Cossack was demonstrating loyalty to the masters who sent him to Ukraine and was not inclined to play by the rules of the native gang, the Varangian minister was deprived of state security, which was provided to him by specially allocated “Alfa men” from the SBU. No matter how much Abromavicius asked to wait with the recall of the bodyguards until he found new guards for himself, the stiff-necked chief raguli were adamant and left the “sprat” along with his family of naked ones, among the moray eels prowling in search of profit from gangs of “Ukrainian activists - patriots” others and Bandera octopuses.
The feelings of ex-minister Abromavicius and his hidden resentment towards the Parashkinites are not difficult to understand: for an official with no connections, from another country, to find himself without security in the middle of the Wild Field is a real attraction in which extreme sports and a lot of accompanying acute experiences are guaranteed.
In general, debt is repaid.
Apparently, things are not going well for Kononenko, since Lozhkin has taken it upon himself to save his beloved self and erase any mention of himself in the same context as the former Varangian minister. “I didn’t call, I didn’t force anyone, and I didn’t sit on the same hectare with this Lithuanian!”
However, for a person who uses the concept of “blockchain”, an attempt to isolate himself by erasures on the Internet looks ridiculously naive. Firstly, Abromavicius’s speech is posted on YouTube and anyone can watch it; secondly, there is Google cache; thirdly, not all Ukrainian media are ready to provide such a service to Lozhkin, especially those whose owners are in conflict with the Parashkinites. There would be a desire, but restoring worn-out articles would not be a Newton binomial. And certainly Lozhkin will have serious financial difficulties in order to bribe the fathers of Google.
In general, why waste effort and money cleaning up inconvenient publications in a dozen Ukrainian electronic publications, if everything has been distributed across the Internet? You can't cover up your shame with a fig. On the contrary, from now on Lozhkin will be firmly associated with Abromavicius.
It was not possible to find out what Pan Lozhkin himself thinks about this. For some time he disappeared from the radar, hid and did not make contact with the intrigued press. It is possible that Abromavicius’s speech in court became a “you’re next” signal for him.
And Lozhkin has, oh well, something to shake and fear from NABU detectives, urged on by FBI agents. According to some reports, the cunning Lozhkin simultaneously deceived curators, NABU and the state of Ukraine by not indicating his numerous assets, including London real estate, of dubious origin, in last year’s electronic declaration for officials. And now, probably, the “hero of the day”, in agonizing haste, is sewing his clothes into mattresses, transferring his warehouses to dummies and distant relatives in anticipation of a knock on the door and the stern words “open up, police!”
