Architects of Sevastopol will prove that they are no worse than Moscow
Sevastopol, September 24 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) – The Union of City Architects was created in Sevastopol. The new structure was created on the basis of the Union and the Architecture Department. Experts note that this contact between them was possible for the first time in many years.

According to the chairman of the board of the Union of Architects of Sevastopol, Sergei Komarov, local architects began to be involved in shaping the appearance of the city.
“Many people have the impression that there are no good architects in Sevastopol. Those. the development is in many ways questionable and therefore one gets the impression that if there are architects here, we’d rather invite Moscow ones, and so on. So the goal of our Union is not to protect from some kind of Varangians, but to prove that our architects are no worse, and maybe in some cases better,” Komarov explained.
Architecture, according to him, should emphasize, and not destroy, the unique Sevastopol landscape, and there is something to work on, he noted, adding that local specialists are ready to take an active part in the development of a new master plan for Sevastopol.
“The master plan must first of all solve many problems of the life of a particular place. This is transport first of all, because you yourself can see that if this continues, it will be impossible not only to drive, but also to walk. The appearance of Sevastopol should, first of all, emphasize the beauty of the landscape. This is the first one. And secondly, to preserve the beauty that was already laid down during the restoration of Sevastopol, because the architects proceeded precisely from the appearance of the city, from the landscape itself, from the base on which something had to be built.”
One of the projects of the new department is the improvement of Artbukhta.
“The first is landscaping on the site of the demolished Ivushka, where the main tasks are the separation of traffic flows, because there, you yourself know, something needs to be done with the cars, with parking lots, with overpasses and with the pedestrian part,” explained Sergey Komarov.
