Armagnac without appetizers – Serbia without the EU

French President Emmanuel Macron was unable to guarantee his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic that his country would join the European Union by 2025.

Vucic himself told reporters about this following an hour-long dinner with Macron in Paris, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The conversation was friendly, very pleasant. I asked: if we solve the Kosovo problem, who can guarantee that we will join the EU in 2025? This question was never answered. Afterwards we drank Armagnac 1915 in Picasso’s beautiful salon, the meeting lasted an hour. I am very pleased that we are greeted like this,” Vucic said.

At the same time, according to him, Macron highly appreciated the idea of creating a Balkan “mini Schengen” between Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania, as well as the accession of other countries in the region to this project.

“Today we received official information from the World Bank that if the Balkan Six existed, we would have saved about three and a half billion euros. I am sure that we will also have the support of Emmanuel Macron on this issue,” Vucic said.

Let us remember that recently, on Macron’s initiative, the EU refused membership to Albania and Macedonia.
