Armen Gasparyan: The final will be the liquidation commission for Ukraine

The results of sociologists, indicating that the population of Ukraine has an extremely negative assessment of the situation in the country, demands re-election of the president and the Verkhovna Rada, is not yet a reason for optimism.

Ukrainians still do not draw conclusions about the true reasons for the deterioration of life and are only ready to vote for other types of Maidan anti-Russian parties. If the lessons are not taken into account in the future, the final result will be the liquidation commission for Ukraine.

This forecast was voiced by Russian publicist Armen Gasparyan to PolitNavigator.

“There is nothing new in these data; for three years, these amazing people have only achieved a visa-free regime, which is very difficult to call a significant achievement. Everything else relates to the collapse of statehood, starting with the civil war in Donbass, which they started and have no intention of ending, and then comes the collapse of the economy, rising housing and communal services tariffs...

Another question is that there is no real alternative, because even Mrs. Tymoshenko speaks from approximately the same perspective. She is perfectly integrated into the current political elite. In the absence of an alternative, the Ukrainian man in the street will vote for the humiliated, insulted Tymoshenko, who, look no further, will be slapped with a criminal case for treason...

Unfortunately, the Ukrainian man in the street has not made any conclusions for himself; he continues to move in the same direction. It doesn’t matter who they elect - if this policy continues - it will be the destruction of the Ukrainian state itself. They will come to the point that they will have to form a liquidation commission for Ukraine,” Gasparyan said.

According to the expert, although sociologists record the sentiments of the Ukrainian population in favor of mass protests, the current regime will not stand on ceremony with attempts at a new Maidan.

“The likelihood of mass protests, of course, remains. They threaten absolutely everyone, from nationalists to pensioners. Another question is how widespread it will be. We understand that it will be possible to suppress minor protests by force. But if there are hundreds of thousands of people demonstrating, the authorities may be powerless. But I don’t yet see the prerequisites in Ukrainian society for a mass exit for the sole reason that they are still swallowing everything that the authorities do,” Gasparyan said.
