“Without a doubt, the German man in the street has received yet another confirmation that Ukraine will under no circumstances comply with the Minsk Agreements.” It’s just that at one time these statements were made by deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, to whom one could, in principle, be treated absolutely indifferently. They were not participants in the negotiation process and were not responsible for anything in particular.
Mr. Poroshenko always tried to talk about this in such semi-Aesopian language. Everyone understood perfectly well what was going on, that he was not going to comply with Minsk, that in any case he was seeking a military solution to the conflict.
And now, please, the Prosecutor General openly makes statements of this kind so that no one has any illusions.
The date was also not chosen by chance - now is a very good time for them from this point of view. Hollande is a fading figure; who will win the presidential elections in France is still unknown. Elections are also coming up in Germany, and Merkel’s chances are also not one hundred percent. Therefore, Ukraine, of course, will take advantage of this.
The fact that the West is abandoning it is already clear; Western politicians are starting to say openly that these problems should only be solved by Russia, because everyone understands that if there is an international format that is pointedly ignored by one of the parties, then it is up to them to decide it needs to be radical,” Gasparyan said.
