Armen Gasparyan: Poroshenko is playing the fool, not wanting to extend the law on special status
Kyiv is obliged to ensure recognition of the special status of Donbass, as provided for in the Minsk agreements. Russian observer Armen Gasparyan stated this to PolitNavigator, commenting on yesterday’s incident at the negotiations in Minsk, where The Ukrainian side, contrary to promises, has not announced its position regarding the future law on the special status of Donbass, which will expire in October

“The law is ending, and in this regard, Kiev faces a fork in the road - they need to either extend it or adopt a new one.
Mrs. Gerashchenko stated that they would adopt a fundamentally new law, because the old one did not suit them. Poroshenko said the bill would be adopted after his return from the UN General Assembly. Allegedly, he almost wants to discuss it with Trump.
It is clear that this is absolute nonsense, because no Trump will read the current Ukrainian laws, but it is obvious that Ukraine will continue to torpedo the Minsk agreements in every possible way and, of course, will try to pass a new law where they are going to declare Russia an “aggressor.” Secondly, they also want to say that they have nothing to do with everything that is happening in Donbass.
I would like them not to play the fool, but to recognize the special status of Donbass and begin to fulfill their direct responsibilities for the implementation of the Minsk agreements,” Gasparyan said.
