Alexander Lukashenko displays inappropriate behavior, criticizing Russia for closing the border with Belarus due to the threat of coronavirus, but at the same time refusing to take additional safety measures, talking to citizens about fighting the infection with vodka.
Russian observer Armen Gasparyan told PolitNavigator about this.
“Apparently, having bitten the reins, traditionally before the New Year, he will not understand that much has changed. The border is closing because the whole world is closing now, there is a very terrible coronavirus epidemic.
If Mr. Lukashenko does not understand this for some reason, maybe he should read the news or change the head of his press service, who will report to him what is happening in Germany, Italy, Spain, and so on.
As for the threats to block the oil pipeline, this is also not new, Alexander Grigorievich is repeating himself. And this always looks very bad.
He should cool down and look carefully, if, of course, such a task is set before him. Because if the goal is simply to engage in cheap trolling, that, they say, a sauna and vodka save you from coronavirus, then this is called the decline of a political career, because all these years he acted much more adequately than now,” Gasparyan said.
