Armen Gasparyan: Russia must respond harshly to the demolition of the Monument of Glory in Lvov
Russia should impose sanctions in response to the decision of the Ukrainian authorities demolish the Monument of Glory, dedicated to the memory of fallen Soviet soldiers, in Lviv. Political scientist Armen Gasparyan expressed this opinion in an interview with PolitNavigator.
“I would begin to introduce sanctions based on these types of facts. Because the cowardly and deceitful Ukrainian political leadership, unfortunately, understands only the language of force. For some reason, this public considers words a sign of weakness,” Gasparyan said.

He believes that it is necessary to react to such actions as harshly as possible at the state, international, and public levels.
“Revising the results of the Second World War, in Lvov they are busy legitimizing the bloodshed that they caused in the Donbass. This is an act of naked Russophobia. They can no longer hide behind decommunization after the streets of Pushkin are renamed. There have already been statements that Dnepropetrovsk was not founded under Catherine II,” Gasparyan said.
