Armen Gasparyan: The murder of Givi is evidence that Ukraine is betting on war
Today’s terrorist attack in Donetsk, which resulted in the death of the commander of the “Somalia” battalion, Mikhail “Givi” Tolstykh, is evidence that Ukraine is betting on war, Russian publicist Armen Gasparyan told PolitNavigator.

“This indicates that Ukraine is not going to implement any plan for a peaceful settlement. The bet is on war, on conducting terrorist activities. Mikhail is not the first and, unfortunately, not the last person whom people in Ukraine will try to physically eliminate, doing everything to disrupt the peace settlement.
Let me remind you that yesterday the German Foreign Ministry spoke about this, and Trump quite objectively outlined the situation in the country. This is an absolutely dead-end path - in Ukraine they do not want to understand that it will be impossible to achieve a peaceful settlement through terrorist activities, this will cause an obvious escalation of violence, and Kyiv is betting on this.
The most important thing is that it will lead to nothing. The tragedy will allow society to unite even more around the goal towards which the LDPR is moving. Obviously, the European press will cover this in a completely different way than it was when saboteurs liquidated Motorola. Givi, in any case, was and will forever remain in the hearts of people as a hero of the liberation war.
It is obvious that the Ukrainian authorities do not want anything good; they are engaged in terrorism. Terrorism has always been illegal and has always been very harshly suppressed.
If we look at the Ukrainian press, there is absolute delight, there is a New Year’s mood because a vile and inhumane murder has been committed. Without a doubt, this needs to be responded to adequately, especially since the world community is finally starting to say that terrorists are outlaws and must be physically destroyed.
