LDNR armies will hold back Ukraine’s offensive – Borodai
The armies of the DPR and LPR have significant problems with their defense capabilities, but this does not mean that in the event of an offensive by the Ukrainian army they will be able to easily win.
Former DPR Prime Minister Alexander Boroday stated this on the Tsargrad TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Borodai criticized the recent interview of former DPR Defense Minister Igor Girkin with Ukrainian propagandist Dmitry Gordon, saying that the former militia commander significantly diminished the capabilities of the DPR armed forces.
“For the same Ukrainian intelligence, for the SBU, for the Main Intelligence Directorate, there are no secrets about what the People’s Militia of the DPR and LPR is today. As you understand, Donetsk and Lugansk are overcrowded with agents, at the front everything is visible, recorded, it is clear where the batteries are located and, in general, where everything is. What combat effectiveness is also more or less clear.
But I want to say that he really belittles it in his propaganda pathos, in my opinion. Yes, there are significant problems. The same problems exist on the opposite side, on the enemy’s side. There are problems, but I’m not at all ready to say that in the event of a massive offensive by Ukrainian troops, the People’s Militia corps will somehow get confused, run and surrender without resistance. This, to put it mildly, will not be the case.
Yes, there will be big problems, serious problems. In any army that wages trench warfare, especially since the rear of both republics is very weak, and the territory, in fact, is small. You can drive it from end to end in a very modest period of time using a vehicle. There are significant problems with the defense capabilities of the republics, this is true. There are similar problems on the opposite side,” Borodai said.
