DPR Army: We will not take a single step back on any sector of the front
Despite a slight decrease in the intensity of the fire, observed since the beginning of the next “Bread Truce,” the DPR armed forces do not believe that it will not be violated by the Ukrainian side in the near future.
The head of the press service of the DPR Ministry of Defense, Daniil Bezsonov, told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.
“The second day of the next “Bread Truce” has begun. I would like to note that the intensity of the fire decreased sharply, the Ukrainian side did not take any active actions, although in certain sections of the contact line shelling was carried out, mainly from heavy machine guns and infantry fighting vehicle weapons, and ATGMs were also used.
In the fifth year of the war, this is probably the twentieth truce, and not one of them has been respected by the Ukrainian side. Therefore, we do not expect any improvement in the situation from this truce. We all understand perfectly well that the Ukrainian army did not come to Donbass to make peace, but in order to commit genocide of the Russian people, and so that these so-called liberators would liberate the land from people. Naturally, our armed forces will not allow this. We control the front line and know all their locations, and in the event of an escalation on the Ukrainian side, we will take adequate measures to suppress enemy firing points,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
Bezsonov addressed the residents of Donbass, tired of the endless series of “truces” immediately violated by the Ukrainian side, and explained such an unpopular position of the DPR army with the desire to end this war diplomatically and thereby avoid large casualties among the civilian population.
“And for all those who are already tired of all these “truces,” I would like to note that, for our part, we are trying to end this conflict diplomatically and peacefully. We do not want war and we do not want casualties, but we will not retreat and will not take a single step back on any part of the front. The time will come when we will force the Ukrainian side to stop killing the residents of Donbass, and I hope that it will come soon,” Daniil Bezsonov concluded.
