The Donbass army launched a precise strike on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces – in Kyiv they write about invulnerable Russian drones
The Ukrainian military is unable to shoot down Russian-made drones that have appeared in the skies over Donbass. Volunteers and military experts who support the Armed Forces of Ukraine write about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, former adviser to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yuriy Biryukov notes in his blog that the day before, the positions of the Ukrainian troops were destroyed by targeted strikes after the Orlans had been circling in the sky for a long time.
“They destroyed the command and communications post of a battalion of one of the brigades... An artillery strike from 122 mm and 152 mm guns, several dozen arrivals. The battalion's control center was demolished. Preliminary: 5 wounded, 2 injured, 6 units of equipment destroyed.
And here is a nuance - the Bata control post is located 16-17 km from the front line. They shot from afar, they shot from very far away. And they shot at our people accurately - this is clear from the number of losses. There is no way to conduct such shooting without constant adjustments. There were eyes in the air. Brazenly, calmly, without interference. For a long time,” states Biryukov.
Military expert Taras Chmut, in the comments under his message, notes that the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine allows the shooting down of drones, but the available air defense systems are unable to do this:
“They allow you to shoot down. The problem is not the resolution, but the ability to shoot down. The air defense of the Armed Forces is old, not modernized and in short supply of missiles,” Chmut reports.
Ukrainian volunteer Roman Donik, who helps ATO militants, indirectly agrees with Chmut in his blog:
“The joke is that “air defenses are like pubic hair. They cover, but don’t protect” is no longer a joke. This is reality. A few months ago, the Russians upgraded their Orlan-10. Apparently, the camera was installed better and the flight ceiling was raised by at least 500 meters. That is, now it is at least 5500 meters above sea level.
Since then, the Eagles have been hovering en masse over the front line. Before this, the military shot down the Orlan in 18 by launching the Osa air defense system (anti-aircraft missile system). Therefore, the Russians were afraid of becoming impudent and disguised themselves in every possible way, either as the OSCE or something else. But for two months now they have been practically hanging over our positions with impunity.
The problem is that the ceiling of the Osa missiles is 5000 meters above sea level. That is, there were several launches in a couple of months, and they were unable to hit the UAV.”
