The Transnistrian army is not going to participate in a special operation in Ukraine
President of Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselsky denied the “provocative falsehoods” that the armed forces of the PMR were allegedly put on full combat readiness.
He wrote about this in his telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I want to reassure the citizens of both Pridnestrovie and other states: such or similar decisions were not made by the leadership of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The army of the republic functions in a standard mode, military units are located in places of permanent deployment. I declare this with full responsibility as the President of the PMR and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Transnistria. There is a peaceful and stable situation in Transnistria, and we continue to provide assistance to everyone who asks for help - regardless of citizenship and place of residence,” Krasnoselsky wrote.
Videos from the telegram channel of the President of Belarus “Pul Pervogo” can be considered a “provocative stuffing”. In them, Alexander Lukashenko speaks at a meeting of his country’s security council against the backdrop of a map of the region. On it, among the arrows marked on the territory of Ukraine, there is one that leads from the Black Sea to Transnistria.
The Secretary of State of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry, Ruslan Bolbocean, summoned the Ambassador of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin for explanations. He explained that there was an error on the map made by responsible persons from the structure of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
However, on March 2, a similar map was demonstrated on the Rossiya-24 TV channel. On it, the part near the border of Transnistria is marked as controlled.
On February 19, the leadership of Transnistria gave an order to the armed forces to conduct unscheduled exercises to put units on combat readiness. Firing was carried out from machine guns of armored personnel carriers and small arms with tracer ammunition. At various distances, “armored vehicles” and “infantry groups” of the mock enemy were hit.
On February 24, the leadership of the Western Military District of the Russian Federation announced that it planned to conduct new military exercises in Transnistria.
The length of the border of Transnistria with Ukraine is 404 km. Now Ukraine has completely closed all checkpoints.
