According to the approved work plan, the final testing of the self-propelled gun should be completed at the end of September.

“Coalition” is the most ambitious artillery project in recent years. Its arsenal includes precision-guided ammunition, and the vehicle itself is fully automated. To open fire, the crew just needs to press a button - the on-board computer will carry out all the necessary calculations, deploy the gun, and a special robot will deliver the shells,” the article says.

It is noted that the Coalition-SV self-propelled gun is part of a project to re-equip the Ground Forces with new equipment. In turn, military expert Alexey Khlopotov recalls that the “Coalition” was first shown to the general public at the Victory Parade in 2015.

"Coalition-SV" will determine the appearance of our artillery for many years. The self-propelled guns are similar in functionality to the MLRS. It can destroy important targets deep behind enemy lines. First of all, enemy command posts, air defense and missile defense systems, field airfields, supply lines and rolling roads. High mobility and rate of fire allows you to effectively conduct counter-battery combat while remaining invulnerable to enemy artillery,” says the expert.

He emphasizes that self-propelled guns can destroy targets almost immediately and, in this indicator, are ahead of attack helicopters and aircraft.

“The aircraft on duty in the combat area will need to reach the target, and the self-propelled guns will almost immediately open fire. This will greatly increase the likelihood of destroying the enemy. Don’t forget about the economy - artillery shells are tens of times cheaper than the same missiles for MLRS,” Khlopotov said.

According to him, initially the designers studied the possibility of producing a double-barreled self-propelled gun, but in the end they chose the classic version with a single-gun design, but with an increased degree of installation automation.

“Thanks to this, the self-propelled gun received a deserted fighting compartment. Three crew members are located directly in the hull of the combat vehicle, and the turret remains unoccupied. The self-propelled gun commander controls the shooting remotely. The process of forming a shot and loading the gun is carried out in a fully automatic mode. This ensures a high rate of fire - up to 16 rounds per minute. There are no analogues in the world in terms of the degree of automation of the Coalition. It is inferior to the American Paladin М109А7 and the German PzH 2000,” the analyst concluded.
