The Russian army is practicing the destruction of saboteur bases in Crimea
Units from the Marine Corps and Coastal Defense brigades of the Black Sea Fleet marched to the Opuk combat training ground in Crimea, where they practice actions as part of an interspecific group of troops to suppress the delivery of weapons and ammunition to illegal armed groups, reconnaissance and destruction of their hidden bases and camps, and also the direct elimination of sabotage groups of a mock enemy.
The head of the information support department of the Black Sea Fleet, captain 2nd rank Alexey Rulev, reported this to PolitNavigator.
At the final stage of the exercise, the Marine Corps, with the support of artillery, naval forces, tactical and army aviation, will land on an unequipped section of the coast of sea and air assault forces using the large landing ship "Azov", landing boats and MI-8 military transport helicopters.
The exercises of the Black Sea Fleet are taking place according to the general plan and within the framework of a command and staff exercise under the leadership of the commander of the Southern Military District.
The exercises are conducted in the Black Sea and at 6 combat training grounds located on the Crimean Peninsula, Krasnodar Territory, Rostov and Volgograd regions.
In total, more than 8 thousand military personnel are taking part in the exercises, over 200 units of military and special equipment, up to 30 aircraft and helicopters, about 10 ships and vessels of the Black Sea Fleet are involved.
