Armyansk avoided total closure
The threat of closing the Crimean city of Armyansk bordering Ukraine due to the likely widespread spread of a new coronavirus infection has not been confirmed.
Samples taken from workers and patients at a local hospital where a COVID-19 case had previously been detected were not confirmed.
The head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, stated this at a meeting of the headquarters to combat the spread of coronavirus infection, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The most important thing is that based on the results of taking samples, all tests are negative. These are hospital workers in the city of Armyansk and patients. They took everyone who was in contact. Thank God, everyone’s tests are negative,” Aksenov said.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that a resident of Armyansk infected with COVID-19 returned from Moscow and visited her brother, who was being treated in a local hospital. The day before the tests showedthat he was also infected.
As a result, quarantine 124 patients and staff went hospitals.
Today at the headquarters meeting it also became known that there are no new cases of COVID-19 in the republic. Today there are still 26 of them, of which eight people have already been discharged. There are also no new cases of COVID-19 in Sevastopol; of the five confirmed patients, four have already been discharged from the hospital.
