Armyansk may be cut off due to debts of Firtash plant
Simferopol, February 24 (PolitNavigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – Due to the debts of Crimean Soda Plant PJSC and the local branch of Titanium Investments LLC - Crimean Titan to pay for gas and electricity, the residential sector of Armyansk may be cut off from power supply.
The Minister of Fuel and Energy of the Republic, Sergei Egorov, announced this on Tuesday at an off-site meeting of the Council of Ministers of Crimea in Krasnoperekopsk.
According to him, Crimean Titan and Crimean Soda Plant have accumulated a large debt for consumed electricity and gas.
“Of the 25 thousand residents of Armyansk, 16 thousand work at the plant, and if there are serious problems with payment, shutdowns are possible,” the official noted.
Crimean Governor Sergei Aksyonov instructed Egorov to hold negotiations with plant managers and offer his proposals on the current situation by Thursday.
“If an installment plan (for energy payments – PolitNavigator) is needed, let’s think about how to meet them halfway,” added the head of government.
