Artemy Lebedev responded to Ukrainians
Famous Russian designer Artemy Lebedev responded to residents of Ukraine who reproach residents of the Russian Federation for not going to rallies, refusing to influence the Kremlin’s policies.
Lebedev said that changes in the country through Maidans are an illusion, and the experience of Ukraine shows that the result of mass demonstrations can only be a worsening of the situation in the country, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a point of view that is now very loud from every SMS and e-mail, and it is now being pumped up in Ukraine. That we are to blame, that something happened to us, we did not go to the square, we did not say “no”, and now we are not going out, and [the fact that we are so lazy, indifferent and out of politics] is a mega dishonest manipulative argument . I’m not ready to explain why it’s pointless to go out, I don’t think it’s interesting to make excuses, why I don’t think it’s interesting to decide the fate of my country by going out into some square with my feet.
Many Ukrainians like the Maidan because, like, we came out and expressed our will. Although, in fact, it was the will of just such a small group of people, people just didn’t even know what was happening, it had nothing to do with them. And I don't like the result. I don't like this solution to the problem. What seems to them like freedom, that we ourselves went out and decided our fate, is not really.
Because if you look at what is actually happening, there were only oligarchs and bloodsuckers, but they have become a hundred times worse. And the fact that someone went out somewhere and freely ate sandwiches in the cold for two months, nothing happened in the country except deterioration,” Lebedev said in an interview with TV presenter Yulia Menshova.
