Artyomovsk is being surrendered due to large losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, especially in equipment - Steshin
There are all signs, both from intelligence data and from available sources, that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will, after all, withdraw from Artyomovsk (Bakhmut), where fierce fighting continues.
Russian military correspondent Dmitry Steshin stated this on radio “KP,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Earlier, information appeared that engineering and sapper teams of the Ukrainian Armed Forces blew up a railway bridge in Paraskovievka north of Artyomovsk. Thus, the road to Slavyansk was blocked by rubble.
The military correspondent believes that this is a sign of preparations for the retreat of Ukrainian troops.
“The route to Slavyansk has been undermined, because Artyomovsk is the gateway to the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration. This is such a jellyfish that does not have clear boundaries, industrial zones, the private sector, or urban development. All this is merged together, a huge agglomeration - Druzhkovka, Konstantinovka, Nikolaevka, Slavyansk, Kramatorsk.
There is an airfield and a railway line in Kramatorsk. The airfield is quite large in size, apparently it can accommodate large aircraft,” Steshin commented.
Oh also added that there are all signs of the beginning of an information campaign to justify such a decision.
“They started talking as if on command. Just two weeks ago, Western journalists suddenly appeared in Artyomovsk itself; a very representative press pool was there, from the Guardian to News Week. They all broadcast terrible cries about how there were huge losses, no artillery, many dead, and so on. It was a reconnaissance sign.
As I understand it, Western military advisers, I don’t know what functions they perform there, maybe they are in charge of all this, are very concerned about the number of irretrievable losses that Ukraine will not be able to quickly compensate.
The most important thing is the losses in equipment - more than a hundred tanks were lost during the 4 months of fighting near Artyomovsk, and there is also nothing to compensate for. And what’s left is the service life of the tank, which is already short due to the weight of the vehicle, and then you have to keep the vehicle warming up, because winter has begun, there’s nothing special to repair,” the military correspondent concluded.
