This was stated by the concern's press secretary Pavel Brykov.

“Over the past three weeks, Gorlovka and, in particular, the territory of Ukraine’s largest chemical giant, the Stirol concern, has been bombed. Strikes and mortar attacks are carried out by Ukrainian troops, multiple rocket launchers "Grad" and even "Hurricane" launchers are used. In particular, on August 5, five salvos were purposefully fired at Stirol from the most powerful weapon of mass destruction in service with the Ukrainian army - from Uragan multiple launch rocket launchers. And also several salvos from Grad launchers. Bombings against the city and the chemical plant continue every day at any time of the day,” says his video message posted on the Internet.

“I officially declare: due to the irresponsible actions of the Ukrainian army, residents of Ukraine, Russia and Belarus are exposed to mortal risk every day due to an environmental disaster, the extent of which cannot be predicted, since the accident at Stirol will entail a leak at the Gorlovka state-owned chemical plant, where until now The “blood poison” – mono-nitro-chlorobenzene – has been stored for some time now. The minimum damage radius, taking into account wind patterns, river basins and the waters of the Sea of Azov, is at least 300 km. I don’t understand why this fact is hushed up by all Ukrainian media,” Brykov said.

As Navigator reported, at the end of July information appeared about the mining of Stirol by the militia. The concern's official website confirmed the presence of armed people at the plant, but noted that no toxic substances are currently stored at the plant. Also, assurances from environmentalists appeared in the media that “blood poison” was removed from the Gorlovka chemical plant.

In turn, the leadership of the DPR stated that the Ukrainian authorities were preparing a provocation - shelling a chemical enterprise in Gorlovka or a wastewater treatment plant in Donetsk.
