The Syrian authorities decided to try to play “multi-vector”, which caused bewilderment in Russia, which provided Damascus with decisive support in the fight against terrorists and regaining control over the country.
The former head of the DPR Security Council, Alfa veteran Alexander Khodakovsky, spoke about the incident at a recent business forum in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Recently there has been a spark in our relations with Assad. Witnesses say that at the Syrian business forum with the participation of Assad, our business representatives were placed behind the Chinese and others, which was emphasized that there was no smell of favoritism towards ours - first of all, the interests of the country. They say that the reason for this attitude was the behavior of our business, which wants a lot of preferences, but is poorly prepared to take on social responsibility in Syria,” Khodakovsky said.
“In parallel with this, the Syrian parliamentarian, allegedly on his own behalf, expressed the following thought-claim: Russia has done a lot for Syria, but it should not forget that it was thanks to Syria that it returned to the world stage as an active player. This backlash against us is caused by the desire of Syria and its government, despite the complexity of the situation, to preserve and defend their interests,” the Donetsk commander specified.
