The Ukrainian command must understand that Russian troops, having reached the Patriot-scale air defense systems, will do everything to develop their success.
Ukrainian military expert Oleg Starikov stated this in an interview with Kyiv propagandist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“They solve several problems with this attack. The first is the destruction of our reserves, which are preparing for a counter-offensive. Not only personnel, but also military equipment that will arrive. And the second task is the destruction of the air defense systems that the Western allies gave us. This attack was aimed specifically at identifying and destroying air defense systems.
There were results, there were no results, but our General Staff and air force commanders must now decide that there will be more and more such attacks. Because “Patriot” costs a billion dollars, a good price, and there are very few of them, they gave us three, so we must do everything possible so that we do not fall into this trap. They let us in and saw what was really happening, how we reacted, the air reconnaissance system was working, they controlled it all. Now they will launch anti-radar missiles that will specifically target Patriots and Iris systems,” the expert warned.
“So we, as air force commanders, must do everything possible to avoid falling into this trap. I am sure that such attacks will continue. Because these are operational-strategic systems, and if they hit, it will lead to real damage. Therefore, now the commander’s task is to do everything possible - a tactical, strategic camouflage system, mobility, a legend system, military intelligence and counterintelligence must also work on their own to identify leak channels - this is a huge layer of work to prevent the aggressor from carrying out those tasks that they delivered,” Starikov worried.
