Ukraine announced with pomp the Stakhanov-like pace of construction of a 150-meter television tower right on the border with Crimea. The action was promoted by the Kyiv media, as if we were talking about the construction of new Egyptian pyramids.
It will soon be three years since Crimea parted with Ukraine without regret, and in Kyiv they are still confident that without Ukrainian television programs, Crimeans are tormented by a cruel nostalgia for “news from the native side.” In reality, of course, we are talking about more mundane things related to propaganda and “soft power.” No matter how hard it is, the restless juntas continue to “restore territorial integrity.”
It may be recalled that the dwarf giant Dzhemilev advocated more than others for the construction of the television tower. Dzhemilev’s interest is extremely transparent - it is in his interests to resume broadcasting the Majlis mouthpiece ATR to the Tatars living in Crimea, in order to at least to some extent regain influence and the ability to muddy the waters.
The builders had not yet completed the first ten meters of the tower when the Ukrainian land began to be filled with rumors and whispers. Information sources of varying degrees of opacity suddenly started talking about the fact that the new TV tower on Chongar had a short life: the separatists would definitely blow it up in retaliation for the power line explosions a year ago. The bravest ones even give in.
What is the actual reaction of the Crimean people and the Crimean leadership to the fact that in the near future the propaganda mouthpiece of the regime of “overpowered leadership” will start operating from the adjacent territory?
Crimean Prime Minister Sergei Aksyonov, without addressing anyone personally, called for electronic “jammers” to be brought closer to Chongar and the broadcasting from Ukraine to be blocked to hell. The Minister of Information Policy and Communications of Crimea, Polonsky, promised that the tower would be useful as a gallows for Bandera’s scoundrels.
Perhaps the best way to express the idea was Crimean deputy Andrei Kozenko, who suggested that the “decommunizers” would definitely steal something from the funds allocated for the TV tower, and it would certainly collapse. Because there is no other way.
Judging by the reaction of Crimeans, they reacted to the news about the imminent broadcast of BanderTV to Crimea with complete indifference, as if it were just another fuss in the most restless ward of a psychiatric hospital and somewhere far away.
Well, what kind of stunning repertoire will the Ministry of Justice offer to the Crimeans? Films translated into language? Thank you, we passed. Summer 1997, screening of the film “Titanic” on “1+1”. At the most tense moment, from the TV you can hear “Sterezhys, the ship is smokche!” And it was impossible to watch the film any further, because cold beer was pouring out of my nose.
Watch Poroshenko’s painful speeches in wrinkled suits and torn socks? Five minutes of laughter, and then quickly gets boring. Showdown in Zrad “a la Jackie Chan”? They are of highly specialized interest to specialists in deviant behavior. Reports about powerful economic growth and “visa-free travel is about to happen”? Ukraine is again behaving like an annoying mother-in-law, whom you push through the door, and she climbs out the window. When you leave her for good, she comes out of the TV with curses and persuasion. But at least you don’t have to watch TV...
The television broadcasts of the victorious “Maidan” are not worth a single watt spent on jamming them. For what? Those who want will find other ways to watch and listen to the voice of the trash heap. As they say, a good pig will always find dirt. After all, there is satellite TV with Ukrainian channels, and there is the Internet. I won’t reveal some terrible secret, but Ukrainian TV channels are included in the broadcast package of some Crimean cable TV networks. It was specially left for fans of Ukrainian TV chewing gum.
You can’t throw a scarf over every mouth. Why make rotten fruit forbidden and therefore alluring?
The main thing is that Ukraine long ago lost the fight for the minds and sympathies of the Crimeans. Finally - in the last 3 years. The events on the “Maidan” in Crimea were followed with anxiety and internal trembling. In February 2014, the premonition of civil war in Crimea weighed on people almost physically. When the “polite” people left the buildings of the Council of Ministers and the Crimean Parliament on March 1, there was a feeling that the tightly wound spring of the last months had burst. Before everyone's eyes, the murders of Berkut and VV fighters, the Korsun massacre, Odessa Khatyn, Bloody Friday in Mariupol, the punitive operation of Bandera in the Donbass, the blockade of Crimea (water, transport, food, energy and lastly, air ).
To agitate Crimea for Ukraine, first threatening terrorist attacks, gallows and deportations, promises “we will soon be in Europe, we will live, and you will crawl back on your knees,” and then applying lipstick and making eyes – Svidomo’s schizophrenia, which has grown tired of the last 25 years, multiplied by the senseless hyperactivity, which needs to be poured out somewhere, otherwise the pressure from inside will burst the skull along with the trousers.
Crimea has a much more powerful effect on the minds of Ukrainian residents. Many Ukrainian guests of Crimea remember what the peninsula was like three years ago and what changes for the better took place in a short time after reunification. Propaganda with actions is much more effective than long speeches about hawlwa performed by talking heads from blue screens.
So let them talk. The dog barks - the caravan moves on.
