The attack on the LPR was repulsed. Ukraine lost 9 people
The attack on the LPR was repulsed. Ukraine lost at least 9 people, said military correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny, who visited the site of the night battle.
“A unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces crossed the Seversky Donets. With the support of artillery, the heights near the village of Nikolaevka were attacked. They knocked out the fighters of the People's Militia, tried to gain a foothold. We got a strong response.
Tanks pulled up to the front line, and Lugansk artillery joined in. As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces unit was thrown back, although initially they acted successfully. The guys on the front line say that Kyiv has 9 – “200,” the military correspondent said.
Military expert Vladimir Orlov reveals some details.
“In general, the area of Sukhodol and Novokievka is not the best place for an assault by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. On our side, the bank is very steep, and the river there is not the smallest. In theory, yes, with some support from the Armed Forces of Ukraine they can try to carry out a crossing there. In several places there you can even try to cross the river with the help of equipment, but these places are very narrow and without serious artillery preparation, trying to storm the heights there is a suicidal undertaking.
By the way, during the Great Patriotic War, our coastline was occupied by units of the Italian army and, due to the terrain, they quite successfully held back the superior Red Army units on this section of the front. Then they were only able to be knocked off from this place only by breaking through the front in another place. Therefore, I don’t know why the Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to storm our shore in this place. Apparently, someone decided to take the initiative,” Orlov suggested.
