Attack on Transnistria will turn into civil war in Moldova - Gurulev
An attempt to attack Transnistria will result in a civil war for Moldova.
State Duma deputy, retired general Andrei Gurulev said this on the NTS TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Gurulev, in addition to the fact that Russian peacekeepers and the state itself will stand up to defend the republic, citizens of Moldova can also take up arms.
“Do they want to start a civil war in their country? After all, it’s not just about Transnistria. The fact is that the overwhelming majority of Moldovan citizens do not support the course that is heading towards war. And if you take Gagauzia, probably 90 percent of them don’t support it. Where is the guarantee that these people will not take up arms and begin to defend themselves? That's the question, isn't it? No more and no less than that.
There are very few of our military personnel there; the rest are citizens of another state who do not at all promote the values that Ukraine is promoting at this stage. Therefore, for Mrs. Sandu, this is a murderous decision that will simply plunge the whole of Moldova into civil war and chaos, regardless of who appears there - the Romanians or someone else. And, of course, this will definitely not go without a response from Russia,” Gurulev emphasized.
