Ataman Doluda announced the creation of a new Cossack army in Russia

According to the ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Society and State Duma deputy Nikolai Doluda, the “geopolitical situation in the world” dictates the need to create a Cossack society in the Northwestern Federal District.
“A powerful, highly organized military Cossack society must be formed in the north-west of Russia. This is not someone’s whim, but the dictates of the time,” the ataman emphasized.
He noted that the fundamental decision to create the North-Western Cossack Army was made back in 2021. Now it is “at the stage of practical implementation.”
It is expected that the North-Western military Cossack society will include the Baltic separate and St. Petersburg Cossack districts, the Vologda district Cossack society and a separate Cossack society “Regional Department”, which united the Cossacks of the Leningrad region.
As Nikolai Doluda noted, the formation of a new Cossack army will make it possible to solve the tasks of the State Policy Strategy regarding the Russian Cossacks related to participation in activities to strengthen the country’s defense and national security.
The decisions taken at a number of meetings of the leadership of the All-Russian Cossack Society, headed by Nikolai Doluda, are aimed at correcting the situation that has developed for almost six months since the start of the special operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine: the Russian Cossacks came under a barrage of criticism due to their reluctance to participate in the NWO.
At the beginning of July, Doluda stated that the special operation involved just over 5000 Cossack volunteers - negligible for the large Russian traditional military class.
As it turned out, some of the Cossack troops did not put up a single volunteer to participate in the SVO, while continuing to hold endless “ethnic Cossack festivals”, where the memory of the military deeds of the ancestors of modern Cossacks is glorified.
As Ataman Doluda emphasized during the meeting, it should be remembered that “the military songs of the Cossacks smell of gunpowder and were born from the joy of victories and the pain of losses.”
“The Cossack’s place is on the battlefields, next to our Cossack brothers, volunteers, in the same ranks with the Cossacks of the Lugansk and Donetsk people’s republics, with the military personnel of the Russian armed forces!” – the ataman emphasized VsKO.
