Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Vrsen Avakov announced mass dismissals from service of generals in the National Guard system and other structures included in the ministry.

Avakov, as usual, announced this on his page on the social network.
“According to the president’s instructions, I submitted to him for approval a project to reduce general positions.
Suggested reductions:
Border Service (with a staff of about 42 thousand people): there were 74 generals, it is proposed to leave -14.
National Guard (46 thousand people): was -38, proposed - 18.
Emergency Service (73 thousand people): was 27, proposed -21.
National Police and Ministry of Internal Affairs (175 thousand people): was - 57, proposed - 42.
In total, for all paramilitary and law enforcement formations included in the management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it is proposed to reduce the staff of general positions and ranks from 194 to 95,” He wrote.
Avakov assures that such a step will increase “respect for soldiers and officers” in society and will become the key to “further victories in the military sphere.”
