Avakov takes control of Ukrainian ports
The information that the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, wrote a letter of resignation, which was spread the day before in the Ukrainian media and telegram channels, is not true.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Leshchenko reported this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to a former parliamentarian, Avakov is really dissatisfied with the fact that President Zelensky wants to reassign the National Guard to himself and is imposing deputies from members of his team on the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but is not going to leave.
“They say that the reason for the resignation is Avakov’s refusal to reassign the National Guard to the president, and also to agree on deputies not from his team, but “from Zelensky,” writes Leshchenko.
He later added that the information about the resignation was “a good show off.”
“In addition to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Avakov is linked to schemes in another ministry - infrastructure. And the first thing he began to do after being appointed to Goncharuk’s government was to promote his deputy minister of infrastructure. Avakov’s deputy in the Ministry of Infrastructure is Yuriy Lavrenyuk, who already held a similar post in Groysman’s government. The protection of all schemes in the ports is associated with his name.
In particular, former regional deputy Vilen Shatvoryan, who is responsible for the supply of fuel and oils, is said to be working under the “protection” of Avakov in the ports. Also, a private security company associated with the head of the economic crime department, Igor Kupranets, began to come in to guard the ports, which caused protests from ordinary state security officers who were being deprived of their jobs for the sake of the earnings of people close to Avakov,” Leshchenko said.
Earlier, in a comment to the Babel publication, Avakov said that his statement will always be on President Zelensky’s desk.
