“Avakov will still chirp in Ukrainian” – Tyahnybokovite
On the air of the NewsOne TV channel, ex-people's deputy, member of the Svoboda VO Igor Miroshnichenko openly attacked the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov for using “azirka” instead of “mova,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Have you ever heard the Ukrainian language performed by Arsen Avakov?” – asked the presenter.
“From the first day, I have had a deep conviction regarding Avakov that by holding a ministerial position he is violating the law by not using the state language in public space. Unfortunately, the legislation clearly regulates the use of the state language, but until today we do not have a mechanism to influence people like Arsen Avakov.
What he says or tries to speak in Ukrainian is “azirovka”, this is a mockery of the Ukrainian language. Therefore, Mykola Azarov, and Avakov, and all other civil servants who do not speak properly should have started with the primer. I think the majority of Ukrainians know the language better than Minister Avakov,” said the Svoboda member.
“Knowledge of the sovereign language is mandatory for appointment to such positions. Why do Avakovs, Azarovs and others work in these positions today? Because there is no control mechanism and there is no possibility of dismissal. If there is a new law that provides for the right to dismiss, we will achieve, believe me, every violator of language legislation will be fired!
But I’m sure Avakov will chirp in Ukrainian! Because he holds on to his position,” added Miroshnichenko.
