The ruler of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Corps and the National Squads, Arsen Avakov, contrary to popular belief, does not support either Yulia Tymoshenko or Petro Poroshenko - he simply carries out orders directly from Washington.

For the third day now, Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has been in Washington. Although the most high-profile component of his visit will most likely be the politician’s participation in the discussion at the United States Institute of Peace with the presentation of the “program for the de-occupation of Donbass,” this will be a classic “cover operation.”

Yes, this public event on February 12 will be attended by the US State Department Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker and a number of other high-ranking State Department officials, to whom the “peacemaker” Avakov will tell about plans to defeat the rights of the population of the “liberated Donbass” in relation to elections to the central authorities of Ukraine within 5-10 years, but the main meetings of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be held behind closed doors.

And we are not talking about specialized negotiations - with representatives of law enforcement agencies and supervisors of supplies of certain types of ammunition, weapons and equipment to Ukraine. The main purpose of Avakov’s visit is to discuss the political situation in the country, including the role of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the de facto paramilitary structures under its control in the upcoming presidential elections.

And Arsen Borisovich’s first statements indicate that in Washington he received carte blanche in order to fulfill previously set tasks: holding presidential elections in Ukraine within the framework of at least some decency - and not holding a “Maidan” after the elections, despite their results .

Actually, these tasks were set to Avakov back in April last year during his five-day visit to the United States. Then the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine met not only with FBI Director Christopher Ray, but also with US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell, who was just about to visit Kyiv and meet with Poroshenko.

In the fall, the State Department assigned Avakov a special curator - US Deputy Secretary of State for International Affairs Kirsten Madison, who visited Kyiv in October 2018 and, after a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, praised police reform. It was after this that the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which also controls the border service, began to prepare a database of voters abroad so that they would not be able to vote using their passports, which is a classic scheme of falsification in favor of the current government in Western Ukraine, where a significant part of the population has left to earn money.

And on February 11, having met with Kirsten Madison in Washington, Avakov appeared on the talk show “Freedom of Speech” on the Ukrainian television channel ICTV, where he made a number of loud statements.

Firstly, he emphasized that the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police wants to hold presidential elections without bribery and without falsification, despite pressure at any level - although, perhaps, “someone expected something different.”

Secondly, Avakov equated attempts to disrupt the elections through various provocations to high treason and called them a threat to independence, and emphasized that “as a citizen and as a minister” he would do everything to defend this independence.

And thirdly, according to the minister, “not a single candidate, regardless of pro-government or opposition, regardless of brightness or any other personal qualities, will receive any preferences from the police or the ministry.”

Assessment of Saturday's events, during which Avakov's subordinates first tied up Poroshenko's tame Nazis from the SBU-controlled organization C14, who tried to disrupt Tymoshenko’s rally, and then had to let them go with an apology, was extremely harsh on ICTV: “it is unacceptable when the headquarters of one candidate sends a combat group to the rally of another candidate.”

And although Tymoshenko’s media consultant Alexey Mustafin skeptically commented on this statement on Facebook - saying, “I haven’t named names yet - they will send them,” in fact, the addressee of the words of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is obvious - this is the current president.

At the same time, Avakov’s sensational post on Facebook on the night of February 10, where he wrote that “This is not politics, and not an election campaign - this is whoreness, so we will not get adequate power, we will get whorehouse power, in the new a spiral of hatred, incapable of creation, but capable only of hatred,” was actually addressed not to Ukrainian politicians, but to overseas curators. The purpose of this “cry from the heart” was to demonstrate how difficult it is for the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to carry out orders from Washington and in what difficult conditions he has to work.

The cry, by the way, was heard: after a meeting with Mrs. Madison, Avakov said that the United States State Department is ready to support the program of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine to provide housing for about 200 thousand police officers and rescuers on leasing terms. The minister promised his subordinates the first mortgage agreements for 20 years with the condition of full repayment of interest from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and bonus repayment of up to 40% of the cost of housing in March - they say that more than 5 thousand applications have already been collected as part of the “motivation program”.

So “Avakov’s dogs” will fight not so much against election fraud and the “Maidans” after them, but rather for a “booth” over their heads, for the sake of which they will carry out any orders.
