Avakov reported to Zelensky on the massacre in Brovary: Blame the local police
Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, whose department is at the center of a scandal for the second time in recent days (first rape of a suspect near Kyiv, today - mass shooting in the Kyiv region, to which the police were late), arranged a public report to President Vladimir Zelensky.
Avakov admitted that the situation in Brovary is unacceptable, and there will be big questions for the local police.
“One of the groups came with a pump-action shotgun, including rubber bands and shotguns. The second group came simply without weapons, hired by another group. A clash began, relatively speaking, between local Brovary carriers, who previously controlled transportation between Brovary and Kiev, and external carriers, who have now been given a significant part of these routes,” the minister said.
“What, the police didn’t know what was going on there? The video shows that there are no police there,” Zelensky asked.
“It wasn’t, yes,” Avakov admitted. – It was an unexpected situation. People were brought in the usual way to route distributions, when people begin to flock and route operators begin to work. Therefore, they qualified it as a transport of ordinary workers, drivers, and so on.”
“But now we want to finish the operation, and I have big questions for the Brovary police. How to miss such a response is unacceptable,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs promised.
“I would like these people not to be released so that we can find customers. I think it's obvious. I saw a video where shots hit the windows, there is a lot of stuff there for you to figure it out on the ground and help the people who are in this situation,” the President of Ukraine ordered.
Previously, the famous Kiev lawyer Valentin Rybin stated that, given the latest scandals around the police, “Fate gives Zelensky a chance to dismiss Avakov.”
