“No fight. In Artemovsk they gathered and crowded around military warehouses. But there is more power there than that. The military is calm,” the minister said on a social network.
Let us remind you that at night conflicting information appeared about an attack by unknown persons on weapons depots near Slavyansk; as a result of the confrontation, there were allegedly casualties.
As Navigator reported, according to eyewitnesses, 10 paratroopers landed from a helicopter near the checkpoint that blocked the road to the Volodarsky mine, 15 kilometers from Soledar.
At this time, four unarmed people were on duty at the checkpoint. The military wounded one militiaman and took two prisoners, but they managed to escape on the way to the helicopter. After this, local miners began to flock to the battle site, supporting the ideas of federalization. They armed themselves with shovels, crowbars and pipes. Seeing the miners, the paratroopers fired several warning shots, got back into the helicopter and flew away, the Donbass News reported.
At the same time, military expert Dmitry Tymchuk stated on his Facebook page that at night near Slavyansk Ukrainian security forces unblocked a checkpoint.
According to him, one person - a representative of the Donetsk Cossacks - was captured.
In addition, he reported that at night about 100 people arrived at the armed warehouses in Artemovsk, guarded by the Ukrainian military, some of whom were armed.
“After 2 hours there were already about 1000 separatists, the arrival of cars with license plates from the Kharkov region was identified. No serious attempts to storm were made; the action was more of a psychological pressure,” Tymchuk said.
According to him, those who arrived chanted “The army is with the people!”
