The internal political situation in Ukraine is far from the same as it was a few months ago, and now the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov has much more influence on President Vladimir Zelensky and what is happening in the country than his former sponsor, oligarch Igor Kolomoisky.
Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is clear that in terms of level of influence, of course, he is a more influential person than Goncharuk, everyone understands this. In general, Goncharuk is treated as a very temporary person, like a prime minister on a scooter; he does not look serious and responsible, so it is very doubtful that he will remain in this position for a long time.
And the fact that Avakov is high in this hierarchy of influence, I would still put him above Kolomoisky.
Now Kolomoisky is also really at war with Zelensky, this is all a very difficult relationship, the situation there has changed compared to what it was two months ago.
So Avakov has more powers and real influence, it seems to me that I would put Avakov in second place,” Pogrebinsky said.
