Avakov signed an order banning canonical Orthodoxy in the National Guard
The National Guard of Ukraine has banned priests of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate from being military chaplains. Deputy Commander of the National Guard Yaroslav Spodar stated this in an interview with Ukrainian News, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He said that today there are 44 military priests in the National Guard of the so-called “Kyiv Patriarchate”, unrecognized in the Orthodox world, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, and they do not take priests from the UOC-MP.
“This is prohibited here. They want to, but we can’t do that. This was not only our opinion, but also the opinion of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Justice. There is a corresponding order from the Minister of Internal Affairs, which clearly states: “Priests whose spiritual centers are located on the territory of the aggressor country are not allowed,” said Spodar.
