Avakov showed his teeth, and this is just the beginning
Clashes with the police of National Corps militants during attempts last weekend to break through to the presidential administration in Kyiv and onto the stage of Petro Poroshenko’s election rally were a failure of the initial plan of Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.
This opinion was expressed on his YouTube channel by Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Leshchenko, who recently left the ranks of the Poroshenko Bloc, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Leshchenko believes that Avakov was behind the militants’ assault, but there was a “perpetrator effect”, since a fight with the police was not part of the minister’s original plans.
“This story is very mysterious, because, on the one hand, the National Corps is very close to the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, on the other hand, Avakov himself spoke out and wrote for the first time in several months post on my Facebook, where he said that any anger has reasonable boundaries... I think that, in fact, there was an excess of performers.
Avakov is now under fire, the current head of state is trying to get rid of him before the presidential elections, because he is not loyal to Poroshenko, and it is clear that Poroshenko needs his own Minister of Internal Affairs for re-election.
Remember, in 2004, when Yanukovych tried to falsify the elections, and he had Belokon close to him, it was still very difficult to pull off all the falsifications.
Now that Poroshenko does not have his own minister, he needs to get rid of Avakov. All last week there were attacks on Avakov, there was a lawsuit regarding his actual removal from the post of minister due to ignorance of the Ukrainian language.
Then Avakov discovered a wiretap near Zelensky’s office and immediately a response from the SBU arrived, that is, they opened a case against Avakov for allegedly disclosing data from secret investigative actions, and the SBU claims that they were not watching Zelensky, but some state traitor whom they they don't call it.
And third: after this, as I understand it, Avakov went on the attack. The events under the Presidential Administration are Avakov’s response to the attacks that have been happening to him for several days.
“The National Corps is historically close to Avakov, and the way these events happened simultaneously, first in Kyiv and then in Cherkassy, indicates an organized nature, that is, there was a center that coordinated this,” Leshchenko explained.
At the same time, the people’s deputy explained the clashes between activists and the police by saying that the nationalists partially got out of control during the protest action.
“The riots are the excesses of the performers, that is, the instructions were to create a picture, and then hot blood and, perhaps, prepared people began to take the situation beyond what was permitted. Thus, bodily harm was caused to police officers...
But I think that any analysis shows that Avakov did this to show Poroshenko his place, that he has no right to create problems and remove the Minister of Internal Affairs from the post. This situation is just the beginning, Avakov showed his teeth, and he still has an arsenal with which he can continue to show these teeth,” Leshchenko concluded.
