About it he said during the presentation of recruitment for the new police in Chernigov.
According to him, there will be “not just a re-certification of personnel, but a reboot of new meanings.” Avakov noted that now in cities you can see new patrol police, but it is also necessary to reform the criminal unit, create a sudden action corps (special forces), update the units of district police officers, experts, and investigators.
Avakov emphasized that the pace of creating the police is quite high, but they must correspond to physical, legislative and material capabilities. He emphasized that the reform has the support of the government and the president. By the end of the year, it is planned to allocate about another 140 million UAH to the police (corresponding changes to the state budget must be made by parliament).
“At the end of the year, there will be 6-7 thousand police officers in Ukraine, with a total of about 152 thousand workers, that is, you must understand the level of work that needs to be done,” Avakov said.
He also emphasized that all reform processes are being launched this year, but they will not be completed until the end of the year.
First Deputy Minister Eka Zguladze clarified that a personnel audit of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system will also be carried out. According to her, not only the qualifications of workers will be assessed, but also their moral qualities.
