Avakov called for preparations for the collapse of Russia without Putin
Ukraine must be prepared for a military scenario of seizing Donbass in case internal instability begins in Russia or something happens to the President of the Russian Federation.
Former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov stated this on the air of the talk show “Freedom of Speech by Savik Shuster,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Avakov, Russia may collapse, just as the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991.
“Let’s assume that Putin is ready for some kind of peaceful transfer of power. And then we are ready too.
And if he is not ready for such a procedure, all our other services should be ready. The military must be prepared in their own way, diplomats and negotiators in their own way, and our society must support this readiness.
We should have, relatively speaking, five, six, seven folders. Sorry, it’s a military scenario - what if something happened in the Russian Federation, suddenly disintegration processes began, suddenly - we don’t have such happiness - Putin died, and we are not ready for this. And we need to be ready.
The year 91 happened, when our independence was proclaimed, it was a whole series of shocks. If Ukrainian society had missed the moment then, I think that we would still be paying a high price now,” Avakov said.
