Avakov will continue to trade in pogrom fears
Pogrom of the office of the President of Ukraine, held last Saturday right-wing radicals, became beneficial to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov.
This opinion was expressed by Kiev political scientist Andrei Zolotarev in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
“Apparently, the initiator of the pogrom was that part of the sponsored activists who were oriented toward Poroshenko’s team and who are supervised by Kononenko (“Latysh”). This was also beneficial for the effective “seller of fear” Arsen Borisovich, although his people were definitely not there - neither the National Corps, nor other formations that are his clientele. There were organizations affiliated with the ex-president’s team such as “Demsokira” and “Vilni People”. There were also Soros like “Gonora”. All of the organizations that applied to hold the action are Parsley’s people,” Zolotarev said.
He points out that Poroshenko’s team is now trying to disown the pogrom.
“But the responsibility lies with the organizers of the action. And if you look at the composition of the participants, it is absolutely clear whose performance it was. Of course, it is possible that the initial task was only to write “sucker”, which corresponded to the intellectual level of the organizers, but, as often happens, the performers were on a roll, damaged the doors, drew a swastika and did a lot of other things that were not in the plans,” – noted the expert.
He believes that the biggest beneficiary of the action was Avakov.
“He showed that he can control the street. He allowed them to frolic, although there were enough forces to suppress everything harshly - there were columns of paddy wagons on the neighboring streets. But such a decision was made. There weren't even inspections or anything. The benefit is double - on the one hand, the president was shown that it could be, on the other hand, everyone was shown the inadequacy of Sternenko’s support group, that is, the public who shouted “Avakov is the devil,” which Arsen Borisovich does not like. Avakov, apparently, will continue to trade in fear,” predicts Zolotarev.
