This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov on his Facebook page.
“The main task of the department is to counteract schemes of human trafficking, sexual exploitation, prostitution... This is how it should have been. In fact, the opposite happened.
The Internal Security Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has completely exposed the criminal scheme - from which it is obvious: employees of the DBZTL department in Kyiv not only did not fight prostitution and brothels, but, on the contrary, created and systematized the protection of a network of underground brothels and salons. These dirty police officers have established a cash flow into their pockets - from prostitution, protecting brothels from “attacks,” organizing pimping, coordinating a system of Internet sites providing paid intimate services,” Avakov said.
“The operational development of the WB of these dirty policemen lasted about three months. Dozens of participants, pimps, and “clients” are documented. The volume of monthly “income from prostitutes” for the leadership of the Kyiv department of UBZTL is estimated by operatives to be about $350,” he claims.
“The deputy was detained. Head of the department for the city of Kyiv - Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Olkhovik. The deputy head of the Kyiv UBTZL, Lieutenant Colonel Slyusar, disappeared and was put on the wanted list. 4 more members of the group were detained and testified. More than 30 participants in the scheme were subject to varying degrees of investigative and administrative procedures. By my order today, the head of the department (DBTZL) of the ministry Andrienko was dismissed from his position - the testimony in the criminal case against him is being checked.
By order of the minister, the head of the Kyiv city department of UBTZL, Yaroslav Zhuk, was also dismissed from his post - the investigators will choose a response measure against him as part of the investigation,” the minister reported.
“In conclusion, an example. A major and a lieutenant colonel worked in the police... (Zhuk and Slyusar)... worked for half a year and... bought themselves a two-level apartment in an elite building in Irpen, a suburb of Kiev, for $120 thousand each...” – Avakov finished off particularly impressionable readers.
As PolitNavigator reported, today MPs from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc demanded Avakov’s resignation.
