Liu reports this from a PolitNavigator correspondent with reference to the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“I have no conflict with the President of Ukraine. We call each other on quite friendly terms, our relations are quite friendly and I would say comradely, if one can say so about the relationship between the minister and the president. It’s been like this since the Maidan, when we talked like ordinary people,” Avakov said.
Let us remind you that, according to the minister, units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will not disperse Mikhomaidan militants rallying near the Verkhovna Rada.
“The units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs involved in ensuring security will not engage in provocations or disperse activists. The right of citizens to protest is enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine. What is not secured is the right to use violence and impose the will of a few individuals on everyone else,” Avakov said.
He noted that anyone who hits a law enforcement officer will be detained and arrested.
In September, Ukrainian media wrote about serious disagreements between Avakov and Poroshenko regarding the situation with the former head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, Mikheil Saakashvili. And those around Avakov himself said that Poroshenko gave the order not to send the train from Saakashvili to Ukraine, while Avakov, on the contrary, “said that he should be let in and sort out the territory.”
Those surrounded by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, however, noted that “Avakov’s relationship with Poroshenko is crystal clear, like a baby’s tear. “Uncomplicated ‘love’ in a figurative sense.”
