Avakov: Russian tanks will not survive near Kiev
Russian troops are able to reach the Ukrainian capital, but they will not be able to gain a foothold there.
This was stated by the former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Kyiv is the mother of Russian cities and so on, that is, he has this in his head. But is this real? Hardly. Do the current groups have enough opportunity and strength to capture Kyiv? No, not enough. Can any group break through to the borders of Kyiv? He can break through, but he cannot survive. This is a fact. Is it sad if a group starts to break through? Sad. It will be a difficult situation for us, we will suffer losses, and they will suffer losses,” the ex-minister said.
“That is, it will be an open, difficult war, and Kyiv will be unpleasant. But to say that you don’t go to bed tonight, you wake up in the morning - there are Russian tanks on the streets... this cannot and will not happen even close, I am deeply convinced of this,” Avakov said on the Ukraine 24 TV channel.
