Avakov fired the police who protected Victory Day celebration participants from the Nazis
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, ordered an official investigation into yesterday’s incidents during the celebration of Victory Day in Dnepropetrovsk, where right-wing radicals who tried to interfere with the holiday were rebuffed, including by the police.

On his Facebook page, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced that he signed an order in the morning to dismiss from their positions: the head of the Dnepropetrovsk region police department, General Repeshko, the head of the Dnieper city police department, Colonel Bidylo, as well as the corresponding deputies for ensuring public safety.
In addition, an official investigation has been ordered, and a special investigative group has been sent to the city “to investigate the actions of civilians and their coordinators within the framework of initiated criminal proceedings.”
"Sorry. I hope the Dnieper police will learn this lesson. As, I hope, politicians will also learn from it. Let’s draw conclusions - we will be stronger!”, Avakov concluded.
