Avakov, in the presence of the US Ambassador, took the oath of office from the cadets of the Police Academy
On Thursday, May 31, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov presented the Patrol Police Academy. Also on this day, the first 83 cadets of the Academy graduated, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Changing the system is impossible without changing the personnel training system. The new police implements three main principles in its activities: honesty, dedication and professionalism,” Avakov said during the release.
He added that the main task of the Patrol Police Academy is to teach, educate and prepare the “new Ukrainian policeman.”
According to the head of the National Police, Sergei Knyazev, the implementation of the Patrol Police Academy project took place with the support of international partners.
“Thanks to the help of the governments of Canada and the United States, we were able to overcome difficulties and introduce a new educational institution for police officers,” Knyazev noted.
As the head of the patrol police, Alexander Fatsevich, said, the first 83 cadets underwent four months of primary vocational training on the basis of the newly created Academy.
US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, who was present during the presentation, assured that the United States will continue to support police reform in Ukraine.
