Avakov stood in Poroshenko’s path to martial law
Only Interior Minister Arsen Avakov does not allow Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to declare a state of emergency and cancel the presidential elections.
This opinion was expressed on the NewsOne TV channel by the ex-Minister of Transport of Ukraine and former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Evgeniy Chervonenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Chervonenko, the current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has no chance of winning the upcoming elections, so his only chance is to cancel the elections due to martial law or a state of emergency.
“The authorities will have no other way, I, as a security officer, understand this, perceive it as an objective reality, to go to elections or try to cancel them, or delay them with a state of emergency, try to spark a war, a hot phase,” said the former minister.
The restraining factor, according to the politician, is the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, who, like Poroshenko, has a power resource capable of taking power in Ukraine by force.
“You will be surprised, but the deterrent, in my understanding, is the Minister of Internal Affairs, under whom there are huge security forces, and who can resist the security forces, who are under the guarantor,” says Chervonenko.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that conflict between Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Interior Minister Arsen Avakov is that both officials are trying to shift responsibility for the unleashed massacre in Donbass onto each other.
