“On the fact of a conflict between the military prosecutor’s office and the Tornado Ministry of Internal Affairs company. I sent a special group at the disposal of the unit, led by two deputy ministers, which arrived at the site last night and worked at the unit’s location. The problems of misunderstanding and conflict between the unit’s soldiers and the military prosecutor’s office have been resolved,” Avakov wrote.
According to him, the conflict situation was created artificially by “unprofessional and incorrect actions of subcontractors.”
“Yes, the court arrested seven policemen, led by the company commander, on serious charges. Yes, I decided, in this regard, to disband the company and recertify the personnel - to make a decision - who is worthy to continue serving and who is not. But! I said it and I will repeat it – the purification of the police and special forces is going on and will continue to go on! And the expulsion and arrests of “dirty” police officers should not cast a shadow on those who honestly served and are serving Ukraine! It is fundamentally! “, the minister emphasized.
Avakov also noted that the company soldiers who honestly performed their duty will continue to serve - after undergoing recertification and enlistment in another unit.
“As for Ruslan Onishchenko and six other police officers arrested on charges of a number of serious crimes, the extent of their responsibility will be determined by the court based on the results of the investigation,” he added.
