Avakov was taken to Paris so that he wouldn’t shit in Kyiv
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, created in Paris the appearance of unity of President Zelensky’s team.
Political scientist Alexey Chesnakov, close to the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladislav Surkov, stated this on air on the Russia-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“And we also made it so that they couldn’t shell Mariupol” - seriously?” – journalist and TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov quoted Avakov during the discussion.
Let us note that the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine immediately after the Normandy meeting began giving interviews, where, in particular, he said that, for example, it was impossible to withdraw troops in Shirokino, since the Ukrainian Armed Forces there were protecting Kyiv-controlled Mariupol, located 25 kilometers away, from shelling.
“With MLRS that hit from 35 to 70 kilometers,” recalled Rodion Miroshnik, the special representative of the LPR at the negotiations in Minsk.
“So who is Avakov telling this to? He is a literate person, he understands the technical characteristics? That is, he cannot believe himself in what he says? – the presenter asked rhetorically.
“He may well believe, because Avakov is the author of wonderful statements. For example, that Russia brought more tanks to Donbass than all NATO armies in Europe have. That is, this is about three thousand tanks, I don’t know how they can be located on a piece of Donbass controlled by the LDPR,” said Ukrainian political scientist Alexander Semchenko
“As a tanker, I’ll tell you something more terrible. Where does so much fuel for three thousand tanks come from? Plus the crews and all the things - then you won’t be able to get by with two corps,” Solovyov noted.
Continuing the topic, Alexey Chesnakov suggested that such a “talented Avakov” was taken to Paris for the Normandy format summit only so that he could demonstrate the unity of Zelensky’s team.
“And so that he does not play his various games there, in Kyiv, while Zelensky is negotiating in Paris on certain parameters of the Minsk agreements. Of course, there is an element of security, but in general you need to understand: this was such a protocol role. Now Avakov is trying to compensate for this protocol role, he offers some of his own interpretations, he acts as a newsmaker, he needs to show that he has his own position on certain issues. Even if it is meaningless, and he describes what happened there between the members of the delegation,” Chesnakov said.
